Israel complains after Vatican denounces 'carnage' in Gaza

Israel has lodged a formal complaint with the Vatican after Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican secretary of state, referred to the Israeli military operation in Gaza as "carnage" and criticized its proportionality. The Israeli Embassy to the Holy See condemned Parolin's comments, stating that he had overlooked the relevant facts when assessing the legitimacy of Israel's actions. The embassy issued a statement on Wednesday expressing their disapproval.
