World War II-era bomb safely detonated at sea in England

An unexploded bomb weighing 500 kilograms was safely detonated at sea in England following one of the largest evacuations since World War II. The bomb was found in in the backyard of a residence in Plymouth, a coastal city in southwestern Britain. It was later transported to a ferry slipway near the HMNB Devonport base.
