Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu criticised calls for elections in Israel from the United States, asserting that these calls were unwarranted amidst the ongoing conflict with Hamas. According to an AP report, US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, a prominent Jewish figure and staunch supporter of Israel, had urged for fresh elections, saying Netanyahu “lost his way”.
