Lightning, downpours kill 65 in Pakistan, as April rain doubles historical average

In April, Pakistan experienced heavy rainfall at nearly twice the historical average rate, leading to flash floods, collapsed houses, and casualties, with at least 28 people killed by lightning strikes. The northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province suffered the most casualties, while Punjab and Balochistan provinces also faced fatalities and infrastructure damage.
