News video: Netflix And Vertical Pick Up Teresa Palmer Thriller According to TheWrap, Director Cate Shortland’s psychological thriller “Berlin Syndrome” has been acquired by Vertical Entertainment and Netflix, ahead of its Sundance festival premiere. In the film, Palmer plays an Australian photographer who engages in a one night stand with a charismatic man - played by Max Riemelt - while holidaying in Berlin, only to wake up to find herself a prisoner in his apartment. “Berlin Syndrome” will premiere in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition section at Sundance, and the deal for its acquisition was reportedly low- to mid-seven figures. As part of the deal, Netflix will acquire all rights including streaming after Vertical mounts a theatrical release in early summer of 2017.
