The activists have been a months-long base for demonstrations against the Dakota Access oil pipeline. Opponents of the line met with officials from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the state Department of Transportation, and Republican Governor Doug Burgum on Thursday morning. They requested more time to remove their belongings and waste from the camps.
