Although this juvenile Black Tip was eventually released back into the ocean, people need to learn about the deadly effects of taking sharks out of the water.

Because sharks don't have bones, their skeleton structure is made from cartilage, and when a shark is removed from the buoyancy of water (i.e.

Taken out of the water and brought onto land), the cartilage isn't strong enough to stop the weight of the shark’s body collapsing onto its organs and crushing them.

So with each second that passes by while you're taking photos and having a laugh, the shark you've just caught is being crushed to death by gravity.

And although it may swim off after being released, the effects of that 5 minutes out of the water could slowly kill it over the next day or two.

Sharks aren't trophies and they shouldn't be used for photo opportunities but if you are going to fish for them, please keep them in the shallows and PLEASE speed up their release πŸ˜“
