On Tuesday (Feb 13), the Republican-dominated US House of Representatives impeached Homeland Security chief Alejandro Mayorkas.
The measure passed with a slim margin of 214 to 213, following a failed attempt last week.
Republican lawmakers advanced two articles, accusing Mayorkas of "willful and systemic refusal" to uphold immigration law and of "breach of public trust," marking the first impeachment of a cabinet member in nearly 150 years.
Mayorkas, President Joe Biden's immigration chief, had been under scrutiny for an extended period, with Republicans holding him responsible for the surge in migrants illegally crossing the southern border.
Hamas criticised US President Joe Biden on Sunday for linking a Gaza cease-fire to the release of Israelis held captive by the Palestinian group. Biden stated on Saturday that a cease-fire in Gaza could occur as soon as “tomorrow” if Hamas released Israelis in its custody. The Miami residence, however, was bought
by Combs in 2021, NPR reports. .
Phones belonging to Combs
were seized by Homeland Security
officials in Miami prior to the 54-year-old
attempting to board a flight to the Bahamas.
The motive for the raids has not been made clear, .
but they follow a lawsuit alleging that Diddy leads an enterprise that could be considered a "widespread and dangerous criminal sex trafficking organization.".
