Pompeo says U.S. concerned about Hong Kong violence, says China must honour freedoms
Monday, 18 November 2019 () The United State is "gravely concerned" about deepening political unrest and violence in Hong Kong, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Monday, and he urged the government of Hong Kong to take clear steps addressing the concerns of protesters.
Fewer than 100 protesters remained holed up in a Hong Kong university on Thursday as riot police encircled the campus, with some activists desperately searching for ways to escape while others hid. Lauren Anthony reports.
