PM Modi plays ‘Tamil pride’ card in Chennai after Hindi row

Countering allegations that his government is trying to impose Hindi and make it the national language, Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again played the “Tamil pride” card in Chennai on Monday. On his maiden visit to Tamil Nadu after being voted back to the power, he sought to recall his statement in the US that Tamil was the oldest language in the world.
