Congress has raised 10 questions on the ongoing probe into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Addressing a virtual press conference, Congress leader Abhishek Singhvi raised questions about Sandeep Singh’s proximity to BJP leaders. He alleged that Sandeep Singh had called the BJP Maharashtra office 53 times and asked who is the special protector of Sushant’s ‘self-professed’ friend? Singhvi also said that the same Sandeep Singh had also made the biopic on PM Modi in the run up to the 2019 Lok Sabha polls and said that the posters for the same were released by then Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He further said that the individual had earlier also been charged with assaulting a minor Swiss citizen. Speaking on the drug angle, Singhvi said that it must be realised that the drug deals in question happened when Devendra Fadnavis was the Chief Minister of the state. Congress leader Abhishek Singhvi on August 09 said that Sonia Gandhi's tenure is coming to an end and there is proper procedure which Congress Working Committee carried out. "Her tenure is coming to an end. There's proper procedure which CWC carries out. It'll be done in near future and you will have a result. It's written in Congress Constitution, we are bound to do it and it's being done," said Singhvi on party's interim president Sonia Gandhi.
Even after interim Congress President Sonia Gandhi said that there was no ‘ill will’ against the 23 party leaders who had sought structural changes in the Congress, the ‘dissenters’ continue to be targeted. In the latest, the Lakhimpur Kheri unit of the Congress party has sought action against Jitin Prasada, one of the leaders who had signed the letter written to Sonia Gandhi. The district unit raised slogans against Prasada. Kapil Sibal, another signatory to the letter, hit back saying that while the Congress should be targeting the BJP, it was busy attacking its own leaders. This comes after Maharashtra Minister and Congress leader Sunil Kedar had asked the three leaders from the state who signed the letter to issue an apology. Threatening the leaders, Kedar had said that they may not be able to walk freely in the state again. 23 Congress leaders had written to Sonia Gandhi seeking structural changes in the party at all levels. The letter was reportedly discussed at the recent Congress Working Committee meeting but no action was taken. Watch the video for all the details.

After Congress Working Committee meeting concluded and Indian National Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal informed in a press conference that CWC unanimously requested Sonia Gandhi 'to continue to lead the Indian National Congress' until such time as circumstances will permit an AICC session to be convened. In the evening, Congress leaders Manish Tewari, Shashi Tharoor and Kapil Sibal arrived at residence of Ghulam Nabi Azad. The crucial meeting of the CWC is being held today after a controversy erupted over a letter by more than 20 senior leaders calling for 'full time' active leadership, sweeping reforms and raising questions about the party's condition and direction, as well as demanding the election of the CWC.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday said that those leaders who give good suggestions to Congress are being accused of colluding with BJP and labelled as traitors. "Those who give good suggestions to Congress, they are being accused of colluding with BJP. When Scindia ji raised his voice, he was accused of colluding with BJP. Now when leaders like Gulam Nabi Azad and Kapil Sibal are demanding full-time party chief, they're also being accused of colluding with BJP. No one can save such a party," Chouhan said. The comments of Chouhan came after developments in the Congress Working Committee meeting. During the CWC meeting, Azad said he will resign if Rahul Gandhi's "collusion with BJP" remark can be proven.
