Road accident deaths plunge drastically in some states, UTs post new Motor Act: Govt
Monday, 25 November 2019 Post implementation of new Motor Vehicle Act on September 1, deaths in road accidents have reduced drastically in some states and union territories including Chandigarh, which saw a 75% dip in fatalities in Sept and Oct. While only two persons were killed in road crashes in Chandigarh in September and October as against eight in the year-ago period.

Chandigarh Police headquarters has been closed for two days for sanitisation amid coronavirus pandemic. A person working in the education department office has contracted COVID-19.
