Don't politicize deaths of infants: Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot
Thursday, 2 January 2020 Reacting to criticism over the death of 100 infants at Kota's JK Lon Hospital, Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday said the issue should not be politicized. His remarks came amid criticism by the BJP and BSP, who accused his government of being insensitive. Mayawati also questioned the silence of Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
At least 194 technically equipped vehicles have been inducted in Jaipur City Police which would improve patrolling and quick response of the police in the city. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot flagged off these 70 Chetak vehicles and 124 Sigma motorcycles carrying the banner-poster of corona awareness from his residence. CM Gehlot also inquired about the safety technology available in these vehicles. These vehicles are equipped with GPS systems for tracking location, cameras for videography of the incident and other modern equipment including address system. This will help in crime research and will enable police to reach the spot immediately. On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to strengthen law and order in the state. For this, all necessary resources are being made available to the police force. He expressed hope that these vehicles would improve the response time of the police and help in crime control.
Celebrating the National Doctor's day in the state, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 108 medical institute buildings through video conferencing. Chief Minister inaugurated 94 projects worth Rs 171 crore and laid the foundation stone for 14 projects with a cost of Rs. 20 crore. On this occasion the Chief Minister said, "To make Rajasthan a pioneer in the field of medical science, we are constantly strengthening the health facilities infrastructure in the government sector. As a result, Rajasthan is successfully fighting the coronavirus. Whether it is recovery from COVID infection, controlling fatality or screening facilities, Rajasthan stands at the front in the country on all parameters." CM Gehlot underlined that we have converted the challenge of coronavirus into an opportunity. We are trying to make Model CHC at various places in the state so that people do not have to go to the district hospitals for treatment. They should get better medical facilities at their nearest community health center. During the programme the Chief Minister also said that the pandemic has changed our lifestyle as well as the attitude towards life. Now our priority is how to get economic activities back on track, because along with life, livelihood is also very important.
During Discussion with the faculties of medical colleges, renowned doctors from across the state through a video conference, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced that antigen test will start soon in the state for coronavirus cases as per the ICMR guidelines. If found suitable, it will help to expand the scope of investigation and obtain a quick report.More than 100 expert physicians participated in the discussion and gave suggestions on investigation, treatment, prevention of coronavirus and other aspects.CM Gehlot said that our goal is to bring down the fatality rate from corona in the state to a minimum level. In this direction, the physician community should use its expertise to find suitable solutions.The Chief Minister underlined that the medical community has played an important role in the success Rajasthan is achieving in controlling the spread. Due to our coordinated efforts, the Rajasthan model is discussed all over the country. Death audits of coronavirus patients are also being conducted in the state, so that we can reach the real causes of death and this study can be used for prevention in future.

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati supported central government's announcement that no further expenditure on new scheme except PM Gareeb Kalyan Package and Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan Package and said that it's a welcome step but its benefit should go to poor. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati held BJP and Congress, both parties responsible for prevailing condition of migrant labourers. "BJP and Congress, both share equal responsibility for the current situation of the migrant workers. It would have been better if before announcing the COVID-19 lockdown, migrant workers would have been given some time and facilitated to their native places," said Mayawati.
Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Chief Mayawati on May 16 expressed her condolences to the bereaved families of migrant labourers who killed in Uttar Pradesh's Auraiya road accident. She said it's unfortunate that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's directions are not being taken seriously by officers because of which a big accident occurred in Auraiya. She said, "Y'day CM said that labourers who come to UP or pass through state, officers will make arrangements for their food, transit and shelter. It's unfortunate that CM's directions are not being taken seriously by officers because of which a big accident occurred in Auraiya: Mayawati." "I demand Chief Minister to take action against the officers who didn't fulfill their responsibilities. Families of those who were killed or injured in this accident should be provided financial assistance," she added. At least 24 labourers were killed and several injured after the truck they were travelling in, collided with another truck in Auraiya on May 16.
BJP's state president, Ravinder Raina reacted on the deaths of former Bandipora BJP president Sheikh Wasim Bari, along with his father and brother by the terrorists. He said, "Pakistan's terrorists have done a cowardly act by killing Sheikh Wasim Bari Sahab and his brother Umar Sultan and his father. The terrorists attacked them from behind. Sheikh Wasim was a hard working member of BJP. He was a good son of Bharat Mata. The blood of our workers will not go in vain. We will take revenge for every drop of blood. Both Pakistan and its terrorists have to pay for this sin."
