Harsh Vardhan seeks Rahul's apology for 'derogatory' remarks against PM Modi
Friday, 7 February 2020 Union minister Harsh Vardhan on Friday said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi should apologise to the country for his "derogatory" remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "During the Question Hour (in Parliament), before answering Rahul ji's question, it was necessary for me to urge him to apologise for his remarks against the prime minister," Vardhan said in a tweet in Hindi.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi spoke on the ruckus in Parliament on Friday. Rahul said he was trying to raise an issue of Wayanad getting more medical facilities. Rahul further added how we was not allowed to speak in Parliament.
Dilip Ghosh, president of BJP's West Bengal unit, trained his guns on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as the poll campaign picks up pace. Ghosh said Banerjee gets terrified whenever senior BJP leaders like PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah visit the state. He was reacting to the Trinamool Congress chief calling BJP leaders 'outsiders' following Shah's recent trip. Ghosh also repeated his charge that the TMC is turning Bengal into Bangladesh. A day earlier, Union minister Rajnath Singh said that the BJP may even end up winning a 2/3rd majority in the state. He was speaking at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit. Phase-3 trial of Covaxin began at Sola Civil Hospital in Gujarat's Ahmedabad. Volunteers are coming at the hospital for the test. "Volunteers who've been vaccinated have yet not complained of any health issues or symptoms. More volunteers will be vaccinated today," said Sola Civil Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Parul Bhatt. Meanwhile, preparation is underway at Serum Institute of India in Pune where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit on November 28. PM will review the vaccine production.
Bhupesh Baghel, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and senior Congress leader, took on those seeking introspection following the party's subpar performance in the Bihar Assembly election. He said that leaders like Ghulam Nabi Azad and Kapil Sibal used to tell their junior colleagues to only raise party issues on internal fora, but were doing the opposite themselves. Senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel laid to rest in Gujarat's Bharuch on November 26.
