The famous bhajan singer Narendra Chanchal passed away at age of 80 in Delhi on January 22. He was known for his religious songs and bhajans. Singer Daler Mehndi shared the news of his death on Twitter. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also tweeted to express grief over death of the iconic singer.
Speaking to ANI in the national capital on January 22, general secretary of All India Kisan Sabha, Hannan Mollah spoke on the declared farmers' rally on Republic Day in Delhi. Mollah said, "Kisans (farmers) have started coming to the Outer Ring Road and will come. We can't change the program." "The rally will be held as declared," he added.
Fire which broke out in Engineers Bhawan in Delhi's busy ITO area has been doused off. Around 14 fire tenders were deployed to carry out the fire extinguishing operation. Speaking on the situation, Delhi Fire Service Deputy Chief Fire Officer Sanjay Tomar said, "We deployed 4 fire tenders in the initial turnout. After looking at the situation, we deployed 13-14 tenders. The fire broke out in an office on the second floor. Fire was doused in 45 minutes. No casualty was reported."
