Crisis-hit Congress to shift its MLAs out of Madhya Pradesh
Wednesday, 11 March 2020 In a bid to keep its flock together, the crisis-hit Madhya PradeshCongress has decided to shift its 92 MLAs either to Jaipur or some other place. "We are going to take our 92 MLAs and those supporting our Madhya Pradesh government to a hotel," a Congress leader said on Wednesday. The legislators would be taken either to Jaipur or some other Congress-ruled state like Chhattisgarh.

Former special counsel Robert Mueller is defending his office's prosecution of Roger Stone. As part of Mueller's Russia investigation, Stone was convicted of lying to Congress, witness tampering and obstructing Congress. In an op-ed for the Washington Post, Mueller said Stone is still a convicted felon, despite President Donald Trump's commutation of Stone's sentence. Because his sentence has been commuted, he will not go to prison. But his conviction stands.
Two people have booked in connection with the alleged rape case of girls, including minors, in Madhya Pradesh, police said on Sunday. "Five girls, including four minors, were found wandering in Ratibad area of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, yesterday night. On being questioned, they said that they were returning after attending a party where one of them was raped," South Bhopal SP Sai Krishna Thota told ANI. "The minor girls have told the Child Helpline that they were raped several times on several occasions in such parties. We have booked two people including Sweetie Vishwakarma, girl who was accompanying the minors, under POCSO Act. Another accused on the run," he said
After the Congress government in Rajasthan accused the BJP of making attempts to topple the state government, several Congress ministers and MLAs met Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot at his residence on July 12. Amid reports of several Congress MLAs thinking of switching support, state Sports Minister Ashok Chandna advised unsure legislators to take lessons from MLAs of Madhya Pradesh who left Congress to join BJP. "People should take lessons from MLAs who left Congress in Madhya Pradesh. They sat idle for months and now have been made ministers as polls are nearing. They will lose the election and ministerial post. People should think about it," Chandna said. Congress MLA Ramlal Jaat said, "In Rajasthan, Gehlot means Congress, and Congress means Gehlot. There is no danger to the government and it will complete its term."
The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot claimed that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is trying to destabilise Rajasthan Government. "We must focus on fighting coronavirus and that is what we are doing but they (BJP) are trying to de-stabilise the government. It wasn't so during Vajpayee ji's time but after 2014 there is pride and division on basis of religion," said Gehlot in a press conference in Jaipur.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev, Patanjali Managing Director among others in Jaipur over their coronavirus medicine claim. Jaipur's Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ashok Gupta informed, "We had received multiple complaints against Baba Ramdev for allegedly claiming to have developed medicine for coronavirus, without any trial. So, we have registered a case against Ramdev, Balkrishna and others on a complaint lodged by an advocate," said Gupta. The FIR was filed in Jaipur's Jyoti Nagar Police Station. Meanwhile, Ayush Ministry had also sought all information on its trial and put a ban on advertising it as a drug to cure coronavirus.
The wood carving artisans in Rajasthan's Jaipur are facing trouble amid COVID-19 pandemic. Their business has been adversely affected due to coronavirus crisis. The artisans are unable to export their products to foreign countries. While speaking to ANI, an artisan Mahesh Jangid said, "We used to sell our carvings to hotels but they are closed due to coronavirus. We are also unable to export our products." There are over 3,000 active cases of COVID-19 in Rajasthan.
