Epitomising communal harmony, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board was working overnight to provide sehri and Iftari to around 500 Muslims quarantined at Aashirwad Bhawan in Katra. Sehri is a small meal taken before the sunrise while iftari is taken after the fast ends at the sunset during the holy month of Ramadan. The shrine even did special arrangements for the Muslims on the occasion of Eid that celebrates the end of holy month of fasting with large meals and other festivities. The migrant labourers have come to Jammu and Kashmir from different parts of the country in special Shramik trains and buses to Udhampur town which is about 40 kms from Katra, where they are staying. The shrine board has spent around Rs 80 lakh on providing food to the needy since March 20 in various quarantine centres at Katra. It has also spent around Rs 1.5 crore in aiding the Covid-19 response. The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine is one of the most revered Hindu shrines and is also the second richest after Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams in India. All facilities of the shrine board in Katra are well maintained and pilgrims from across the country prefer them over hotels for their cleanliness, hygienic food, comfortable bedding and hospitable staff.

So we changed our schedule accordingly so that they can have 'sehri' and 'iftrai'." He also said that we will try to provide special recipes to them on Eid.

Lockdown in Thiruvananthapuram has been extended for a week to restrict COVID spread. In order to ensure restrictions, police personnel in Thiruvananthapuram are in action. IDs of people are being checked as they move about for their daily chores. Triple-lockdown (more restrictions) has also been imposed in containment zones. Dead bodies of two patients belonging to two different communities were swapped at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on July 06. Daughter of the deceased said, "We received a call from AIIMS, and the staff member told us that by mistake they have given someone else's body to us. My mother's body was still in the hospital. The body which we received belonged to a Muslim family." The body of the Muslim woman was cremated following Hindu customs.
While speaking to ANI in Bengaluru on July 09, the Health and Family Welfare Minister of Karnataka, B Sriramulu spoke about plans to increase number of labs and technicians in the state. He said, "We have 72 labs where COVID-19 tests are conducted. They are under pressure with increased number of tests. When lab technicians are quarantined, it gets difficult to complete work." "So we are considering increasing number of labs technicians," Health Minister added.

He said, "This solution is designed for Govt to run their war rooms, control rooms and hospitals." Objective behind the development was to help patients to easily access information. Following the High Court decision clearing the way for the construction of the new Secretariat of Telangana government, the demolition of the old Secretariat complex began in Hyderabad. The demolition process started after the Telangana High Court rebuffed PILs challenging the K Chandrashekar Rao government's decision to build a new secretariat complex. "During last 24 hours, fairly widespread rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry region. Next 48 hours over Tamil Nadu light to moderate rainfall is expected. "While, North Tamil Nadu and some interior districts of TN will receive heavy rains," he added.
