AIADMK govt will not return to power if it opens liqour shops during lockdown: Rajnikanth
Sunday, 10 May 2020 The shops were ordered to function between 10 am and 5 pm in Chennai and the government had stated that a distance of 6 feet would be maintained between customers and that additional staff would be deployed at the stores to ensure crowd control.
Former MP of DMK party, KR Arjunan was caught fighting with police on duty at a toll gate in Salem on Jun 28. Ex MP was stopped by police on duty near Salem checkpost and sought e-pass as per lockdown protocol. Arjunan behaved rudely with the cops and the argument led to pushing between the two. He kicked the officer and left the zone but no one retaliated. No FIR have been filed against the ex-MP yet. Arjunan was with DMK when he was an MP and then jumped to AIADMK. He is not with any party now actively.

Informing about the weather update, Deputy Director General of Meteorology, IMD (Chennai) Dr S Balachandran, said moderate rainfall is expected in next 48 hours in Tamil Nadu. "During last 24 hours, fairly widespread rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry region. Next 48 hours over Tamil Nadu light to moderate rainfall is expected. "While, North Tamil Nadu and some interior districts of TN will receive heavy rains," he added.
