Railways passenger service to resume gradually from Tuesday

Initially with 15 pairs of trains will run, railway ministry said on Sunday. These trains will be run as special trains from New Delhi station connecting Dibrugarh, Agartala, Howrah, Patna, Bilaspur, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Secunderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Madgaon, Mumbai Central, Ahmedabad and Jammu Tawi.

A controversy has erupted over a helicopter installation placed near an iconic statue at the Shangumugham beach in Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram. Near the 100-foot-long 'Jalkanyaka' or mermaid statue made by artist Kanayi Kunhiraman a helicopter installation was placed by the state tourism department a few months ago. Critics slammed the move as an insult to the mermaid statue, with even the artist calling the government insensitive. In Kerala, 25,000 odd birds have died due to the bird flu outbreak in the state. In addition to this, 50,935 birds have been culled to stop the spread of the bird flu.
