‘Vocal for local’: Firms quizzed by govt-run stores

Taking PM Narendra Modi’s 'vocal for local’ as a call to action, government-run stores such as the Canteen Stores Department (CSD) and the Central Police Canteen (CPC) have asked their suppliers, who manufacture fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), durables, luggage and other lifestyle products to furnish details of their manufacturing location as also the place of origin of their raw materials.
