Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and state minister Aaditya Thackeray visited Alibaug in Raigad district. They visited the area to take stock of the damages caused by cyclone Nisarga. Cyclone Nisarga hit coastal parts of Maharashtra and Gujarat on June 03.
Former President Pranab Mukherjee has tested positive for Covid-19. 84-year-old Mukherjee took to Twitter and announced the news. He found out about his positive status when he went for routine check up. Mukherjee has requested people who have come in contact to self-isolate. Leaders, cutting across party lines, have wished Mukherjee a quick recovery. Union Minister Piyush Goyal and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis wished Mukherjee a speedy recovery. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also wished the former president a quick recovery. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed concern over the development. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge also wished for a speedy recovery. Pranab Mukherjee had cancelled all his engagements and stopped going out for public functions for the last few months. In the wake of raging coronavirus epidemic, the government had asked all senior citizens to stay at home. Former chief minister and Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis demanded Enforcement Directorate investigation in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case as it seems money syphoning involved in the case. Rajasthan Congress leader Vishvendra Singh spoke to Hindustan Times over the tussle between the Gehlot & Pilot camp and the eventual truce. He said that they went to Delhi under the leadership of then PCC Chief Sachin Pilot and added that they wanted to apprise the Congress top leadership about the slow implementation of the manifesto. Singh said that Gehlot is the head of the Congress family in Rajasthan and added that not even Sachin Pilot has disputed his leadership. He also rubbished allegations of the ilot camp hobnobbing with the BJP. In which way are we supposed to be linked to the BJP? Each one of us paid our own bills, each one has paid the lawyers, all the papers and all the proof are with Mr Pilot. Deccan Gymkhana Club celebrated centenary year of India's participation in Olympics from 1920 to 2020 in Maharashtra's Pune. Sports Commissioner of Maharashtra, Om Prakash Bakoria graced the event on August 13. This event was organised by Pune Athletic Association and Deccan Gymkhana Club. Olympians were also felicitated during the event.
Over 7000 cusecs of water was released from Khadakwasla Dam on August 13. The water was released following rainfall in Maharashtra's Pune. Due to continuous downpour in parts of Pune, dam was facing heavy influx of water since beginning of August.
