India's COVID-19 total case count has reached 7,42,417 on July 08.Total active cases reached 2,64,944 and death toll has gone up to 20,642 today. As per Government of India, the rate of recovery among COVID-19 patients continues to increase over the days. It has touched 61.53% today. Presently, there are 2,64,944 active cases under medical supervision. Maharashtra reported 6,603 new COVID-19 cases and 198 deaths today, taking the total number of cases to 2,23,724 including 1,23,192 recoveries and 9,448 deaths. Number of active cases stands at 91,065. Tamil Nadu reports 64 deaths and 3,756 new COVID-19 positive cases today. The total number of positive cases stands at 1,22,350 including 46,480 active cases and 1,700 deaths. 2,033 COVID-19 cases, 3,982 recovered, and 48 deaths reported in Delhi today. Total number of cases in the national capital is now at 1,04,864, including 78,199 recovered, discharged, migrated, 23,452 active cases and 3,213 deaths. 22,028 COVID-19 tests conducted in the national capital today-9,461 RTPCR tests and 12,567 Rapid antigen tests. While speaking to media in Mumbai on July 08, the Health Minister of Maharashtra Rajesh Tope spoke on reopening of restaurants and gymnasiums in coming days amid coronavirus outbreak in the state. Deputy Director-General of IMD, Anand Sharma on July 07, informed that Delhi-NCR will receive moderate thundershower for next 24 hours and after that light rain thundershowers for the next 48 hours. He said, "For next 24 hours, we expect a moderate thundershower in Delhi-NCR and after that for the next 48 hours we expect light rain thundershowers. This will lead to normal and below normal temperatures but we don't expect heavy showers at the moment." He further said, "We have a cyclonic circulation over Saurashtra and Kutch, another cyclonic circulation on Jharkhand has weakened and another cyclonic circulation is present over coastal Andhra Pradesh."

The body of a COVID-19 positive person was laid to rest using JCB machine in Andhra Pradesh's Tirupati. The body was laid to rest in a pit using a proclainer with family's consent on July 05. The weight of body was over 175 kg. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy flagged off a fleet of 1,088 ambulances on July 01. Ambulances will be equipped with modern life support systems to provide quick and better medical care. Ambulances were flagged off under three categories. 26 neo-natal ambulances are also inducted into the fleet of 412 new 108 ambulances in which 104 of them are advanced life support vehicles and 282 are basic life support vehicles. 676 Mobile Medical Units (MMU) of 104 emergency services will cater to the interior and remote villages. Ambulances are equipped with ventilators, infusion pumps, syringe pumps, comfortable stretchers and have provisions for delivery. The vehicles are also enabled with surveillance cameras to ensure proper health care monitoring by doctors.
