Covid-19: 12-hour night curfew in Assam, Hyderabad market traders to shut shops for 8 days

With coronavirus cases on the rise, the Assam government announced a 12-hour night curfew across the state from Friday and a 14-day complete lockdown in Kamrup (Metro) district, of which Guwahati city is a part, from June 28 midnight while traders of Hyderabad's largest wholesale market Begum Bazar decided to shut shops for eight days from Sunday.

World tally of COVID-19 cases has crossed 1 crore mark on June 28. Country tally stand on 203051 active cases with 16,095 deaths. Maharashtra has reported 156 deaths and 5,493 new COVID-19 positive cases today. Delhi has reported 2889 new COVID-19 positive cases and 65 deaths today, and is continuing to see marginal dip in fresh infections. Total number of cases stands at 83,077 including 27,847 active cases, 52,607 recovered/discharged/migrated cases and 2623 deaths. Assam has recorded 2307 COVID-19 active cases and nine deaths so far. A 14-day complete lockdown has been imposed in Guwahati city from 7 pm today. Karnataka reported 1267 new COVID-19 positive cases including 783 cases from Bengaluru Urban, taking the total number of cases to 13,190. Death toll rose to 207 after 16 deaths were reported today.
