Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jyotiraditya M Scindia took oath as Rajya Sabha member from Madhya Pradesh in Delhi on July 22. Before taking oath as Rajya Sabha member, Scindia greeted Congress leaders Digvijaya Singh, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Mallikarjun Kharge. First-time MP from the Shiv Sena, Priyanka Chaturvedi also took oath as Rajya Sabha member. Around 43 of the 61 newly elected members of RS took oath today.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan along with Jyotiraditya Scindia attended the foundation stone laying ceremony and launch of grains market in Agar Malwa on July 14. During the event, Jyotiraditya Scindia targeted Congress leader and former CM of MP, Kamal Nath. He said, "When Kamal Nath was the CM, he didn't have time to hold a meeting over COVID-19 but he had the time to go to Indore for IIFA awards. A fighter came to the front and took the reins in his hands on March 23 and single handedly faced the pandemic in the state." He also took a pot shot on current political situation in Rajasthan.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and National Vice President, Uma Bharti on July 13, accused Rahul Gandhi for political crisis in Rajasthan. She said that Rahul Gandhi is responsible for what's happening now in Rajasthan and whatever happened in Madhya Pradesh. "He doesn't allow young leaders in Congress to grow. He feels that if educated and able leaders like Jyotiraditya Scindia and Sachin Pilot get high posts then he'll be left behind".
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi visited Ram ki Paudi to inspect arrangements ahead of Ram Mandir Bhoomi Pujan. Speaking to ANI, CM Yogi on August 03 lambasted on Congress and said that the party didn't want foundation stone be laid where Lord Ram was born. "Congress should look in its past. They didn't want that a foundation stone be laid where Lord Ram was placed. They didn't want the conclusion of the issue," said Adityanath in Ayodhya. Foundation stone laying ceremony of Ram Temple is on August 05. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to lay foundation stone of Ram Temple.
Politics over the Ram temple foundation laying event is escalating with every passing day. Congress leader Digvijaya Singh claimed that BJP leaders were being found Covid positive due since they're not following the beliefs of Hinduism. BJP was quick to respond with MP Home Minister Narottam Mishra likening the Congress leader to an 'asur'. Digivijaya Singh launched another attack on the BJP, this time mocking the foundation stone laying event on the 5th saying, Rajiv Gandhi had already performed Shilanyas earlier. Digvijaya has also called on PM Modi to defer the foundation laying ceremony saying that the date was inauspicious. The war of words come just two days before the grand 'bhoomi poojan' event in Ayodhya. PM Modi is all set to lay the foundation stone in the presence of 200 other dignitaries, including RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. Grand preparations are underway in the temple town to make the event a mini-diwali like affair. BJP leader Uma Bharti said that she will skip the 'bhoomi poojan' event in Ayodhya. The BJP leader tweeted that she is leaving for Ayodhya from Bhopal and she is afraid that she may come into contact with some Covid positive person. She added that she would not like to endanger PM Modi or any other person at the event. She said that she has informed the temple trust authorities and also the PMO that she would not be attending the bhoomi poojan event and would offer her prayers after PM Modi and others leave the spot. The former Union Minister said that she has been especially worried after news of Amit Shah and other BJP leaders tested positive for Covid on Sunday. Massive preparations are underway in Ayodhya for the foundation laying ceremony of the Ram Temple on August 5th. PM Modi and 200 other people are expected to attend the event.
