Sachin Pilot sends legal notice to Congress MLA Malinga over horse-trading charge
Tuesday, 21 July 2020 () Sachin Pilot, who has been sacked as deputy CM of Rajasthan and PCC president, has served a legal notice to Congress MLA Giriraj Singh Malinga for his statement that Pilot had offered him money to join the BJP. A message on Pilot's official WhatsApp group said Tuesday night that he has served Malinga a legal notice for "the false and malicious statement".
Rajasthan Congress MLA Giriraj Singh Malinga on Monday alleged that Sachin Pilot offered him Rs 35 crore to not vote for Congress in the Rajya Sabha polls. The allegation was rejected by Pilot who said it was done to malign his image and he will take "strictest possible legal action" against the MLA....
On Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot's 'uneasy' truce, BJP Rajasthan president Satish Punia said that there are a lot of differences in the government. He said, "There are a lot of differences in the government. The way they have struggled, there are chances that they might bring a vote of confidence in the Assembly but we are also ready to bring a no-confidence motion." Rajasthan Assembly, Leader of Opposition Gulab Chand Kataria announced that BJP will bring 'no-confidence motion' on August 14. He said, "We are bringing a no-confidence motion tomorrow in the Assembly along with our allies."
Congress leader Sachin Pilot met Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot at his residence for the Congress Legislature Party meet. This was the first time the two leaders came face to face after a month-long freeze in ties following Pilot's rebellion against the state government. Several other Congress MLAs also arrived at Gehlot's residence to attend the meeting which has been scheduled a day ahead of the special session of the Rajasthan Assembly on Friday. Earlier in the day, Gehlot said whatever misunderstanding occurred within the Congress party in the last one month, needs to be forgiven and forgotten. Last month, Pilot was removed as Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan and the state Congress chief after he led a rebellion against the Gehlot led government. The reconciliation came after Pilot met Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi earlier in the week. Meanwhile, BJP also held a legislature party meeting which was also attended by former CM Vasundhara Raje. Heavy rainfall in the national capital led to waterlogging in over 40 areas of Delhi. This was the heaviest spell of rain this monsoon season. Vehicles moved bumper to bumper during the morning rush hours, as the downpour led to heavy waterlogging at key road stretches. Pictures and videos of vehicles and people wading through waist-deep water were widely shared on social media platforms as well. In one such video some people were seen pushing a car that was stuck in the waterlogged streets. BJP MP Gautam Gambhir also posted a video of a bullock cart ferrying people in a waterlogged street of the capital. Some people lose balance and fall into the water on the street. Gambhir posted this video to attack the AAP government over the waterlogging in the capital. Light rainfall is likely to continue in the capital over the next two to three days.
