"Two days ago, a delegation of our party met the family. They are very worried and upset. They have written in a letter seeking help and strict directive to the police officers to fully assist them," Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said. The Congress general secretary said in the letter that kidnapping incidents are increasing rapidly in Uttar Pradesh.

'Tampered PM Modi photo' charge at Congress leader, FIR over BJP complaint

An Indian National Congress party leader was booked by Madhya Pradesh police over a complaint by a Bharatiya Janata Party leader. Jitu Patwari was booked for allegedly posting a 'tampered' photograph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on social media. The post contained an image of the Prime Minister conducting 'bhumi pujan' or ground-breaking at the Ram temple site in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya on August 5. Police filed a First Information Report (FIR) over a complaint by BJP's Gaurav Randive. He accused Patwari of igniting public passions and tampering photographs. Kozhikode crash: Mortal remains of pilot-in-command Deepak Sathe reach Mumbai

Mortal remains of pilot-in-command Deepak Vasanth Sathe reached Mumbai on Sunday afternoon. Mortal remains were kept at the Air India facility near the Terminal 2 of the Chhatrapati Shivaji international airport for some time. Deepak Sathe's wife Sushma and their son were present. Body of the deceased was brought to Mumbai from Kochi. Pilots, crew and ground staff of Air India paid tributes to the late captain. Sathe lost his life with 17 others in Kozhikode plane crash. Mortal remains of co-pilot Akhilesh Kumar were cremated on Sunday. Around 200 Air India Express employees paid tribute to the fallen co-pilot in Delhi. Kumar's mortal remains were taken to his native place in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura. An Air India Express plane overshot the runway on August 7. The aircraft fell into a valley where it split into two pieces. At least 18 people, including two pilots, were killed. There were 190 people onboard the Vande Bharat flight. The flight was bringing back Indians stranded in Dubai due to Covid-19 pandemic.
