Mayawati making statements at BJP's behest and 'under compulsion': Ashok Gehlot
Friday, 31 July 2020 Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday alleged that BSP chief Mayawati is making statements over her party MLAs' merger with the Congress at the behest of BJP and under "compulsion" due to fear of misuse of probe agencies.
BSP chief Mayawati has said that she will approach the Supreme Court if needed to reclaim 6 BSP MLAs in Rajasthan who had merged with the Congress in 2019. BSP chief Mayawati, while welcoming the COVID-19 inoculation drive beginning Saturday, requested the Centre to provide the vaccine for free to the common man. She said if that does not happen, then the respective state governments should ensure that people get the vaccine for free. She said if her party comes to power in Uttar Pradesh, then it will ensure that everyone gets tot coronavirus vaccine for free. According to the government, the shots will be offered first to an estimated one crore healthcare workers, and around two crore frontline workers, and then to persons above 50 years of age, followed by persons younger than 50 years of age with associated comorbidities. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has launched a book in the national capital. She launched the book on the occasion of her 65th birthday on January 15. The book is written in two languages-English and Hindi. Book titled- 'A travelogue of my struggle-ridden life and BSP movement' in English and 'Mere sangharshmay jeewan evam BSP movement ka safarnaama' in Hindi were launched.
