BJP sends legal notice to Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar

The BJP's Karnataka unit on Friday said it has sent legal notice to the leader of opposition Siddaramaiah and state Congress chief D K Shivakumar for their "baseless" allegations of corruption in the procurement of Covid-19 equipment and supplies. The party has demanded public apology from the two leaders, failing which they have been threatened with legal action.

Over 24 patients, including several COVID-19 patients, died at a government hospital in allegedly due to the shortage of oxygen. Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar met with the kin of deceased patients. An inquiry has been ordered into the matter by the district incharge. Several hospitals across the country have been reporting a shortage of oxygen and due to that many people admitted there have lost their lives.

Jarkilholi on March 27 called the state Congress chief an impotent and alleged his hand behind the alleged sex tape which forced Jarkiholi to resign as a minister. Shivakumar dismissed his allegations and labelled Jarkiholi as a "frustrated" man.
