All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen's President Asaduddin Owaisi on India-China border issue said that we have the right to ask the government how did the 20 jawans lost their lives in Ladakh. Owaisi said, "We were expecting answers for multiple questions, but all remained unanswered. I have the right to know what happened with the 20 jawans, so that I can pay tribute to them, there should be a debate on this issue. Why are there no daily briefings on this? Today, there are only selective leaks."
A massive showdown was witnessed in the Lok Sabha on the first day of the monsoon session over the government’s decision to scrap the question hour in view of the coronavirus crisis. The opposition cornered the government and said that the move is ant-democratic. Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said that the government is trying to stifle the voice of the opposition and strangulate democracy. AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi urged the executive not to encroach into the territory of the legislature. Defending the government’s move, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said that in the last five years, 60% of the session in Lok Sabha and 30% in Rajya Sabha have been wasted over Question Hour. As the Parliament's monsoon session approaches, the Opposition is objecting to the cancellation of Question Hour for this sitting. Question Hour is when Members of Parliament get an opportunity to grill ministers on various governmental activities, policies, and decisions. The Opposition is calling this a bid to prevent accountability amid a pandemic and economic crisis. He has written to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Om Birla, that he has the power to restore the conduct of the Question Hour. However, the government has countered all criticism, claiming that almost all leaders of Opposition parties had agreed to cancellation of Question Hour during discussions. A police official rescued a dog from overflowing stream in Telangana. The stray dog was stuck in bushes along the bank of a stream. A police official can be seen pulling the dog out of the bushes. Police officials used a jcb machine to rescue the stuck dog. The stream has been overflowing due to rainfall in the region. The incident was reported from Telangana’s Nagarkurnool area.

A Home Guard rescued a stray dog which was stuck in a bush during the flash over flow of tank bund in Nagarkurnool. The tank bund over flowed due to heavy rain. A Home Guard, who was assisting police, was deployed around the tank bund to avoid public movements near the area, he noticed a dog stuck in the bushes surrounded by water flow. JCB had been called and the Home Guard Mujeeb rescued the dog.

BJP chief JP Nadda lashed out at the Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal and accused it of being anti-Hindu. Nadda questioned the need for a lockdown on August 5th and alleged that it was done to prevent people from being part of the occasion at the local level. Nadda further said that this is politics of appeasement and added that it shows the anti-Hindu mindset of the TMC government in the state.
