Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated Police Premier League (PPL) T-20 cricket tournament in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar. Director General of Police (DGP) of J-K, Dilbag Singh was also present in the event. 16 teams from Srinagar are participating in the tournament. "16 teams from Srinagar are participating in it. We want youth and children to have some relaxed and healthy moments," DGP said.
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah on Saturday said that he was not against the operations being carried out by security forces in the valley but against the loss of innocent lives during those operations. "The Army has agreed that the three persons who were killed in Shopian were killed by mistake and the government should provide a huge compensation in this case," Abdullah said. Yesterday, Army chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane had said that the investigation into the Amshipora case will be conducted with utmost fairness and will be taken to their logical conclusion. Meanwhile, the Army said that the inquiry ordered by the Army authorites into Operation Amshipora has concluded adding that during the operation, powers vested under the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) 1990 were exceeded.

In its bid to contain the coronavirus pandemic in the Kashmir valley, the Jammu and Kashmir administration is setting up COVID-19 testing camps in rural areas of the union territory. These camps are being set up for ensuring safer testing for the people who can't visit the hospitals due to the threat of the virus. In line with this, the government organised a testing camp in Sheikhpora village in Budgam district where the health officials went door to door to take the samples of locals and provided immediate results. People in large numbers took part in the camp and appreciated the government initiative which they said will further help in controlling the spread of the deadly virus. The testing camp also helps those who travelling plans since the immediate results helps in determining their health status. This COVID-19 testing facility ensures isolating those who found positive and containing the pandemic which continues to trouble the country.
