Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday held a meeting with several leading members of film fraternity. The virtual meeting was over the UP CM's proposal of a new film city in the state. In his address, CM Yogi stressed on what makes the state the 'cultural centre' of the country. He pointed out that UP shares borders with seven states and a neighbouring country (Nepal). CM Yogi added that the new film city will come up near the site of the historical city of Hastinapur. Singers Udit Narayan, Kailash Kher, Anup Jalota were present at the meeting. Several other dignitaries including Anupam Kher, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri took part virtually in the meeting. The film city was proposed by Yogi last week and 1000 acres of land have been identified for the project. The film city is likely to come up in the state's Gautam Buddh Nagar district. Incidentally, the district already boasts of a film city, located at Sector 16 A in Noida.

Bhim Army president Chandrashekhar on September 19 joined the ongoing protest of sanitation workers in Noida. Hundreds of cleaning staff are protesting from yesterday against the state government over their rights. Chandrashekhar warned that if government will not agree to the demands of the cleaning staff then a country wide protest will be carried out on September 24. "We are protesting for the rights of the cleaning staff. We demand a legal action against those officers who lathi-charged. The protest will continue till our demands are not fulfilled. I can assure that If we will come to the power then we will regularise all the cleaners and will take action against those officers who lathi-charged us," he added.
Two chain snatchers got injured in a gunfight with police personnel at sector 58 area of Noida. They have received bullet injuries, the criminals have been admitted to hospital. "An incident of chain snatching took place in sector-58, our team was on ground. The criminals attacked our team, in the gunfight both criminals got injured. We have recovered two pistols and mobile phones form them. Both are residents of Delhi," informed Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP), Ran Vijay Singh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level virtual meeting with Chief Ministers and Health Ministers of seven COVID-19 high burden (States/UT Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Punjab) to review response and management. While addressing in the meeting, PM Modi said, "There are more than 700 districts in the country but only 60 districts in 7 states are a cause of worry." "I suggest CMs to hold virtual conference with people at district/block level for 7 days. We have to learn from the best practices from across the states," PM Modi added.
Council of Scientific and Industrial Research on September 20 informed that Drugs Controller General of India has approved CSIR's paper-based testing kit called Feluda for COVID-19. CSIR, Director General S Mande said, "Our Delhi CSIR lab's been working on studying CRISPR-Cas immunity. They have experience of working in this particular area before COVID-19 and could repurpose the thing for COVID and developed a paper-based testing kit called Feluda and got formal approval from DCGA. Mande further explained the functioning of the paper based test. "It's different as RTPCR detects RNA and amplifies it using a polymerase chain reaction that is costly. This paper-based test also detects RNA but by a CRISPR guided system. The paper lights up if there is any virus RNA to show a sample is positive, in 45 minutes," he added.
