A local terrorist surrendered during an encounter with the security forces in the Lal Pora village of Pampore in Pulwama district on November 06. A total of two terrorists were also killed in the encounter by the security forces. The encounter began on November 05 during a search operation in Meej area of Pampore. 2 AK-47 and 2 pistols recovered from the site. 2 civilians were also injured.
Terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) was behind the killing of three BJP leaders in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar said and appealed to the protected persons in the valley not to move around without their security. Three BJP workers -- Fida Hussain, Umer Hajam, and Umer Rashid Beigh -- were shot dead by militants in the Y K Pora area of Kulgam district in south Kashmir late on Thursday evening. The Resistance Front (TRF), which is believed to be a shadow group of LeT, claimed responsibility for the killings. IGP (Kashmir) Kumar said police have seized a vehicle used in the attack and that such killings were being executed at the behest of Pakistan. Watch the video for more details.

IGP Jammu Mukesh Singh on Nagrota encounter said, "During a routine check, a truck was intercepted at 5 am. Driver of the truck fled. During search, CRPF soldiers and police were fired upon using heavy ammunitions and grenades were also lobbed. More forces were called in and encounter went on for 3 hours." "4 terrorists were killed during the encounter. 11 AK-47s rifles, 3 pistols, 29 grenades and other devices were recovered from them. It seems they had infiltrated with the intention of doing something big and were headed towards Kashmir valley. Operation is underway," he added.
At least four terrorists have been gunned down and two police constables sustained injuries in the encounter at Ban Toll Plaza in Jammu on November 19. Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and J-K Police received input about the movement of terrorists from Samba sector towards Nagrota. When the terrorists reached the toll plaza they were trapped and eliminated by the security forces. Total 11 AK-47 rifles and several grenades have been recovered. The encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces on the morning of November 19.
Two unidentified militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on November 10. Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Kutpora area after receiving information about the presence of militants. CRPF and Indian Army troops conducted the joint search operation. The search operation turned into an encounter after the militants fired upon the security forces, who retaliated. Their identification and group affiliation is being ascertained. Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir region received fresh spell of snowfall and rain which have triggered cold wave conditions in the region. The snowfall led to closure of several roads connecting remote villages in the area. In view of heavy snowfall in the higher reaches of the valley, a 'low danger' avalanche warning was issued for Poonch, Rajouri, Ramban, Doda, Anantnag, Kulgam, Baramulla, and Ganderbal.
