High alert in UP as court to rule on Babri demolition case today
Tuesday, 29 September 2020 Almost 28 years after the Babri Masjid was demolished in Ayodhya on December 6, 1992, a special court here will, on Wednesday, decide the fate of some of the big names of the Sangh Parivar accused of criminal conspiracy and “incitement,” which led to the razing of the structure. Besides, unknown kar sevaks are facing trial for demolishing the structure.

Design of a new mosque planned in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya was revealed on December 20. The UP Sunni Central Waqf Board unveiled the blueprint, work on which will begin once the Faizabad Panchayat District Board gives its approval. Apart from a mosque, the site will have a 300-bed specialty hospital and a museum. The 5-acre land was allotted by the state government following the Supreme Court's judgment in the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi dispute. Watch the full video for more details.

Indian Army has organised a four-day recruitment drive for women in Uttar Pradesh. The recruitment drive has been organised at AMC stadium in Lucknow Cantonment. The Army is conducting tests to recruit eligible candidates in military police. Around 8,000 women have registered themselves for the recruitment drive. The four-day recruitment drive for women will conclude on January 21. Major General NS Rajpurohit, ADG (Recruitment), Indian Army said "We will be covering 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh and 15 in Uttarakhand. We are happy to see that a lot of women have participated with enthusiasm in this drive. This is the second phase of the recruitment process, they are here for physical tests. Around 8,000 candidates have registered themselves for the recruitment process.

Officers of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh police arrived at the Singhu border to hold talks with the farmers protesting against the farm laws. Bhartiya Kisan Union's spokesperson Rakesh Tikait on the first meeting of the Supreme Court-formed committee said that they don't know and they are not going. He further said that the bill will go back the same route it came from. "We don't know, we're not going (to first meeting of SC-formed committee). Nobody from the agitation approached the court. Govt brought bill through Ordinance, it was tabled in the house. It'll go back the same route it came from," said Rakesh Tikait while speaking to ANI on January 19.
A four-day recruitment drive started for women in UP's Lucknow. Indian Army conducted a test for recruitment of several female candidates in Military Police (MP) in the second phase for Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Recruitment is being held in Lucknow from January 18 to 21. Around 8000 women got registered in the entire process after application round from both the states. They have been called for physical and medical tests in a phased manner.
