Thursday, 1 October 2020 () Two soldiers were killed and four injured in an unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops along the LoC in J&K's Naugam sector on Thursday, officials said. In a separate incident, another soldier was killed in an incident of ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Krishna Ghati Sector of Poonch district on Wednesday night, said Defence PRO, Jammu.
As global anti-terror watchdog FATF reviews Pakistan's performance in curbing terror-financing, India on Thursday said the neighbouring country continues to provide safe havens to terror entities as well as UN-designated terrorists. Spokesperson in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Anurag Srivastava said Pakistan has addressed only 21 out of 27 "action items" prescribed by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to contain terror financing. The FATF began its three-day virtual plenary meeting on Wednesday in which it is reviewing Pakistan's performance in implementation of the action plan recommended by it to choke channels of funding to the terror groups operating from the country. "As is well known, Pakistan continues to provide safe havens to terrorist entities and individuals and has also not yet taken any action against several terrorist entities and individuals including those proscribed by the UNSC such as Masood Azhar, Dawood Ibrahim, Zakir-ur-Rahman Lakhvi etc," Srivastava added. Protests were held by PoJK refugees in Jammu as India observed black day to mark Pakistan’s invasion of Jammu and Kashmir In 1947. The protesters slammed the Pakistan government and said that their land is being used by Pakistan & China for the CPEC. They also called on the international community to condemn Pakistan’s actions and sought action against Islamabad for the killing of 70,000 Hindus and Sikhs. Two militants on Thursday surrendered before security forces during a cordon and search operation in Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said. "A cordon and search operation was launched by security forces in Tujjar area of Sopore. During the operation, two militants surrendered before security forces," they said. Both the militants, aged 20 and 21, are residents of Sopore town, the officials said, adding that the identity of the duo is withheld for operational reasons. Watch the video for more details.

District Youth Services and Sports Department of Poonch organised a tracking expedition for youths in Mangnar. Around 90 youths participated in the event. Youth hailed the sports department of Poonch for organising this tracking expedition amid pandemic.
Pakistan troops shelled mortars in two sectors along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. A defence spokesperson said that Pakistan violated ceasefire by firing with arms & intense shelling in Degwar around 6.15 pm. It was followed by firing and artillery shelling in Khari Karmara at 6.40 pm. The shelling drew a befitting retaliation by the Indian Army. There was no report of any casualty, added the defence spokesperson. On October 10, two BSF personnel were injured in Pak firing along LoC in Poonch’s Mendhar sector.
