In a heinous crime, two bike-borne men attacked a woman in Haryana with acid. The incident happened in Panipat on October 26. "FIR has been registered. Based on the CCTV footage, we are identifying the men," a police official said.
A shocking incident has come to light from Haryana's Panipat, where a woman was kept locked in bathroom for a year by husband. Women Protection and Child Marriage Prohibition Officer has rescued the woman. She was found in a weak condition and it is being probed to find out if she is mentally-challenged, said police. Police have lodged a case. Husband has been identified as Naresh.
Authorities in Gurugam city of Haryana on November 22 arrested two persons involved in making forged COVID-19 test reports at a fake lab. Few of the people, who obtained fake negative certificates from them, have even travelled to US, informed Gurugram's Drug Controller Officer Amandeep Chauhan, who also revealed that some fake positive reports were also sought for taking leaves from workplace. Since the pandemic started in the country, several incidents have emerged where fraudulent COVID certificates were issued.
Massive fire broke out at a furniture godown in Gurugram on November 02. Fire tenders arrived at the spot to extinguish the fire. So far no casualties have been reported. The godown was located in Sector 52. Further investigation underway.
Air quality in the national capital remained in the sever category for the fifth consecutive day. A thick layer of smog enveloped many parts of the capital and adjoining areas. NMany Visibility was low due to the smog and traffic was also slow in many parts in the early morning. Neighbouring cities of Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Noida, Greater Noida also recorded ‘severe’ air quality. The Air Quality Index was at 472 in the 'severe' category at ITO. Air Quality Index was at 484 in Anand Vihar, 470 in Mundka, 465 Okhla Phase 2 and 468 in Wazirpur, all in 'severe category', as per CPCB. With Diwali around the corner, pollution levels are likely to rise further in the coming days. The Delhi government has already banned firecrackers in the city to prevent further spike in pollution. PM10 levels in Delhi-NCR stood at 575 microgram per cubic meter at 9 am, the highest since November 15 last year, when it was 637 microgram per cubic meter, according to CPCB data. Police on Tuesday arrested two men for allegedly killing a 21-year-old woman outside her college in Haryana's Ballabhgarh, a murder which triggered protests with students and local residents blocking the road to Sohna. The two men were produced before a court in Faridabad district and sent to two-day police remand. A special investigation team has been formed to ensure a quick probe into the case, Haryana's Home Minister Anil Vij said. The accused, who arrived at the spot in a car, had tried to pull the woman inside, in a bid to abduct her, but she resisted after which the key accused shot her, police had said. She was taken to a hospital, but she succumbed to injuries, the ACP had said. During the investigation, it emerged that the main accused was the woman's classmate earlier, police said. Haryana Minister Vij said the accused has connections in Congress due to which the pressure mounted on the victim's family to withdraw their complaint earlier in 2018. Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said that Ecology and environment are very important for our survival. At least 20 people died in mysterious condition in Haryana's Sonipat. It is suspected that the people died after consuming illicit liquor. Police is investigating the matter and bodies of some people have been sent for post-mortem. According to Sonipat DSP Virender Singh, police haven't got any complaint from the family members of the deceased persons in regards to the illicit liquor consumption. Probe is underway.
A horrific incident came to light where a body of a missing girl found on Nov 01 in a field in Jhajjar. "A missing person case was filed yesterday here (Sonipat) by family members. The girl's body's been found in a field in Khanpur Khurd. A case has been registered here. Further probe is underway," informed police.
Several masked men looted Rs 7 lakh from Punjab National Bank in Haryana's Jhajjar on October 21. Investigation is underway. "CCTV footage has been recovered. Around 7 lakh rupees have been looted from the bank. Monitoring is being done," said Jhajjar SP.
Two people died and several injured in a cylinder blast at a house in Meerut on November 18. The building collapsed following the blast and it is speculated that several people are stuck beneath the debris. Meerut SSP Ajay Sahani said, "Seven people were rescued from the debris and rushed to a hospital. Two of them have succumbed to injuries. An inquiry will be done in this matter." Police team reached the spot and rescued people. The injured have been sent to the hospital.
First Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) center has been set-up in UP's Meerut division. Plant was set up by Kharkhoda Nagar Panchayat. Under this facility, waste is segregated and then treated for recycling. Collection of waste material is done on de-centralized method from ward to ward. Speaking to ANI, plant in-charge Saurabh Kumar Chaubey said, "Entire garbage from city area is brought here, segregated and then treated for recycling."
