Terrorists on Sunday lobbed grenade at security forces in Tral of Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district. An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of CRPF suffered injuries in the grenade explosion. Police informed that the explosion caused minor injuries to ASI Asim Ali. Police added that the injured CRPF personnel was shifted to Tral hospital. The area has been cordoned off and a hunt has been launched to nab attackers.

Jammu and Kashmir tourism department organized two-day (17 and 18 OCT) autumn festival in Pahalgam. The main objective of festival is to revive the tourism sector in town which was badly affected due to COVID-19. The festival included an exhibition of village crafts, tapestry of cottage, craft and handicraft. About 20 stalls displaying traditional art, craft and ethnic cuisine were set up at the Pahalgam Club. The festival was inaugurated by the advisor to Lieutenant Governor. A three hour cultural programme was also organised.
Border Security Force (BSF) held second round of recruitment process in form of written test on Oct 18 for the post of constable in BSF and CISF for youth from 22 districts of J-K and Ladakh. Thousands Kashmiri youth participated in the recruitment drive in Budgam. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing norm was followed at the test center. After physical test, 5,151 male and 438 female candidates were found fit to appear for the written test today.
Kashmir Inspector General of Police, Vijay Kumar informed that the forces have arrested Jahangir Bhat, the associate of SPO Altaf Hassan Bhat, both of whom had decamped recently with two AK-47 rifles and three magazines. "Special Police Officer Altaf Hassan Bhat, posted in Budgam, had decamped with two AK-47 rifles and three magazines, two days back along with his friend Jahangir Bhat. Area was cordoned by security forces and firing had ensued. SPO managed to escape, Jahangir was nabbed," said Kashmir IGP.
While addressing a joint press conference in Srinagar, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar said, "3 teachers of a school booked under Public Safety Act (PSA). We have also taken action under Section 107 CrPC against six teachers." "The school is affiliated to Jamaat-e-Islami. If needed, action will be taken against the institution," IGP Kashmir added.
Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar on August 28 informed that operations will increase from November onwards to eliminate rest of the terrorists in the valley. "No police personnel been injured in the encounter in Kiloora area of Shopian district. We will increase our operations from November in order to eliminate remaining terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir."
