Law student turns hostile in Chinmayanand ‘rape’ case
Tuesday, 13 October 2020 () The 23-year-old LLM student who had accused former BJP MP Chinmayanand of sexual exploitation last year, turned hostile before a special MP-MLA court in Lucknow on Tuesday. The court was hearing the case on the direction of the Allahabad high court. The student appeared before the court on Tuesday and categorically denied that she had made any allegations against the former minister as the prosecution had charged.
Main accused of Ballia firing incident, Dhirendra Singh has been sent to 14 days judicial custody by Chief Judicial Magistrate of Ballia district court on Oct 19. He was arrested in Lucknow on October 18 by Special Task Force (STF). A man died after bullets were fired during meeting for allotment of shops under govt quota. Slippers were hurled at RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav during a poll rally in Bihar’s Aurangabad. The leader was sitting with party workers when the incident happened. Two slippers were hurled at the leader. One of the slipper missed Yadav while the second one landed in his lap. Yadav has been campaigning in Bihar ahead of the assembly polls in the state. The leader has also challenged BJP, JDU and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar over work done in the state. Watch the full video for more details.

Facing flak for his "item" jibe about Madhya Pradesh minister Imarti Devi, state Congress chief Kamal Nath has expressed regret and claimed that he did not say anything disrespectful. While Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said earlier in the day that he did not appreciate the kind of language Nath used, Nath maintained that he would not apologise. Nath claimed the word "item' is used in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies, but the BJP tried to "mislead" by making it an issue to divert people's attention as it is sensing defeat in the November 3 bypolls in Madhya Pradesh.

The Peethadheeshwar of Patalpuri Math, Mahant Balak Das slammed Congress leader Udit Raj over his tweet against 'Kumbh Mela'. "Nowadays, new trend is going around leaders to be secular. These kinds of leaders are opposing their own Sanatana Dharma. I doubt they are leaders of this country or not, are they Hindu or not? This is nothing but double standards," said Mahant Balak Das. Udit Raj has questioned government spending over the celebration of 'Kumbh mela'. "No religious teachings and rituals to be funded by the government. The state doesn't have its own religion .UP govt spent Rs 4200 crore in organising the Kunbh Mela in Allahabad and that too was wrong?," this tweet of Congress leader Udit Raj has raised controversy.The tweet came out after Assam government moved to shut state-run madrasas.
National Spokesperson of AICC Udit Raj sparked controversy with his tweet, which he deleted later. In his tweet he said that "No religious teachings and rituals to be funded by the Govt. The state doesn't have its own religion. UP govt spent 4200 crore in organising the Kumbh Mela in Allahabad and that too was wrong." On his tweet he said, "Religion should be separate from the political party and state government should not interfere or encourage or discourage any political religion." Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur slammed the Congress leader by saying, "Some people don't have ideas and will for development. When crores of people attend an event, govt has to develop infrastructure and provide facilities. Such events provide opportunities to develop infrastructure". Udit Raj later tweeted that he is restoring his tweet and is ready to debate.
