Adani Group has taken over the operations of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad. The Airports Authority of India completed all the procedure and handed over the airport operations to the Adani Group. The ceremony of handing over the key of the airport was held at the midnight on November 06. The management, operations and development of the airport will now be handled by the Adani Group from November 07 for the period of 50 years. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport recorded footfall of 1.14 crore passengers in 2019-20. This step by Adani Group is expected to strengthen and expand the airport business.
Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi during a public rally came down heavy on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP over farm laws and accused them of making farmers slave of Ambani and Adani. Gandhi said, "On one hand, PM Modi has bought two aircraft worth Rs 8000 crores. On the other hand, China is at our borders and our security forces are braving harsh cold to protect our borders. I predicted the impact of corona on our economy; PM Modi made fun of me. Now I am saying that Modi will make farmers slave of Ambani and Adani."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with three teams working on developing and manufacturing of vaccines against Covid-19. The teams were from Gennova Biopharmaceuticals Ltd, Biological E Ltd, and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories. PM Modi's interaction with the vaccine developers was held through video conferencing. He also appreciated the efforts being taken by the scientists of these companies. Earlier, PM modi had visited Pune's Serum Institute of India to review vaccine development. He had also visited Ahmedabad's Zydus Biotech Park and Hyderabad's Bharat Biotech facility.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Serum Institute of India in Pune to review Covid-19 vaccine development. PM Modi was seen holding a meeting with officials at SII. PM Modi was on a three-city tour on Saturday to take stock of Covid vaccine development. PM visited Zydus Biotech Park in Ahmedabad, followed by a trip to Hyderabad’s Bharat Biotech facility. Two fishermen drowned after a fishing boat capsized in the Arabian Sea off Mangaluru coast on Dec 01. 16 fishermen have been rescued while four are still missing. Search operation is underway to find the missing fishermen.
Keeping in mind the spread of COVID, Dr P Dayananda Pai Sathish Pai Govt First Grade College, Mangaluru conducted COVID-19 tests before classes resume tomorrow. "All 72 staff of the college took the test. Around 200 students tested today. District Health Officer arranged the facility in our campus," said Principal.

Devotees gathered to offer morning prayers to the rising sun on last day of Chhath Puja. Most people stuck to the traditional practice of offering prayers at river banks. Devotees flouted the guidelines issued to curb the spread of coronavirus disease. Lucknow's Gomti riverfront, Ganga banks in Varanasi and Patna were abuzz with devotees. However, many devotees stayed back home and offered 'arghya' to the rising sun. They offered 'arghya' from temporary water bodies, made specifically for the festival. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also celebrated the festival at his official residence. Kumar offered 'arghya' to the rising sun and refrained from stepping out. The four-day puja see rituals known as Prathihar, Dala Chhath, Chhathi and Surya Shashthi. Chhath Puja is celebrated on the sixth day of the Kartik month of the Hindu calendar.

The airport, in order to meet its futuristic demands, is also working to expand its infrastructure. A new integrated building at the cost of 1,232 Crore is being constructed. Once ready, the new terminal building will be capable of handling 4,300 domestic and 200 international passengers at peak hours, thereby enhancing the annual capacity from six million to ten million. With multiple check-in counters, self-check kiosk, Baggage carousels, In-Line baggage security screening system and Aero Bridges, the terminal will also be an energy-efficient building. The new terminal building is scheduled to be ready by June, 2022. AAI is committed to serve the Nation by enhancing passenger safety and building infrastructure with modern facilities.

Leh airport has been handling flight operations efficiently amid the fight against Covid-19. The airport ensures that no infected passenger hops on the flight or goes unchecked in the city. Thermal screening is being conducted for all passengers. Those who do not produce RT-PCR negative Test done within 48 hrs of boarding have to go through a rapid antigen test at the airport. Airport authorities are ensuring proper sanitization of public areas and luggage. They also follow strict compliance to social distancing norms at the airport. Passengers are appreciative of the efforts being made by the airport authorities to keep Coronavirus at bay.
