War of words between Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav over the former’s comment during the Bihar poll rally. Tejashwi Yadav recalled Nitish’s comment on children. Asserting that the people of Telangana are angry and upset with the ruling TRS in Telangana and Owaisi's "alliance", Union Home Minister and top BJP leader Amit Shah on Sunday predicted this time Hyderabad will elect a BJP Mayor in the city's civic polls. Shah, who offered prayers at the Bhagyalakshmi Devi Temple in Old City here, said the people of Hyderabad want good governance and they have belief in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and the BJP. Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti on November 29 alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wants to ban PDP and trying to get her because she raised her voice against them. She said, "I think BJP wants to develop an ecosystem of itself where there is no place for democracy. They are trying to get to me. They want to ban my party because I raised my voice. I am repeatedly told that Article 370 is being talked about since my release. But what can I do about that."
As long as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) don't reinstate Article 370 the issue won't be resolved in Jammu and Kashmir, said Peoples Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti on November 29 while addressing media persons. She said, "Until and unless the Kashmir issue is resolved, the problem will remain and persist. As long as they do not reinstate Article 370 the issue won't be resolved. Ministers will come and go."
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) called Muslims as 'Pakistani', Sardars as 'Khalistani', activists as 'Urban Naxal' and students as members of 'Tukde Tukde gang' and 'anti-national' then who is 'Hindustani' in this country, asked Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti on November 29. I fail to understand if everyone is terrorist - anti-national, then who is 'Hindustani' in this country?Only BJP workers?"
In the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 29 during his Mann Ki Baat 2.0, part 18 said that any kind of laxity with COVID-19 is very dangerous. "After getting out of the lockdown phase, discussion has commenced on vaccine. But any kind of laxity with coronavirus is still very dangerous. We have to firmly keep fighting against the virus," said PM Modi.
Hundreds of jail inmates including women celebrated Chhath puja in Muzaffarpur's Central Jail. The celebration was held with the active support of the jail authorities. The four-day festival is dedicated to the worship of the Sun God and his sister Shashti Devi, also known as Chhathi Maiya. The rituals are rigorous and involve fasting, abstaining from even drinking water and standing in water for a long time. Devotees offer ''prasad'' to the setting and rising sun.
Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) Chairman G Satheesh Reddy appealed COVID-19 patients to get treated in agency-run hospitals in free of cost. Chairman Reddy said, "DRDO has established COVID hospitals in Delhi, Patna and Muzaffarpur; 1000-bedded hospital with 250 ICU beds in Delhi, and 500-bedded hospitals with 125 ICU beds in Patna and Muzaffarpur. Patients are treated free of cost at these hospitals. I request all the affected people to come here and get well soon."
As the voting for the third phase of the Bihar Assembly polls began, RJD leader and Rajya Sabha MP Ahmad Ashfaque Karim on November 7 cast his vote at polling station in Katihar. Subhashini Raj Rao the daughter of Loktantrik Janata Dal leader and former JD (U) chief Sharad Yadav cast her vote at polling booth number 278 in Madhepura. She is contesting election from Bihariganj assembly seat. State Minister Suresh Kumar Sharma cast his vote at polling booth number 94 in Muzaffarpur. Former Vaishali MP Lovely Anand cast her vote at polling booth number 209 in Saharsa. Polling began on 78 assembly constituencies across all 16 districts in the third and final phase of Bihar polls today and results will be declared on November 10.
Ahead of final round of voting for Bihar's state assembly, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held a rally in Bihar's Muzaffarpur. While addressing the rally, Rajnath Singh said that PoK belongs to India and we consider it as a part of us. He called it as 'our parliament's resolution.' Rajnath Singh said, "No power can capture an inch of India's land. And we will neither let anyone capture an inch of our land nor will we capture an inch land of another country. Pakistan should understand one thing clearly that entire PoK belonged to India and today also we consider PoK as part of India. In future also, it will remain with India. This is our parliament's resolution."
A woman was shot at by unidentified assailants in Bihar's Patna. She was shot during a robbery attempt on November 28. The victim has been admitted at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) for treatment. Speaking to media, a police official said, "The victim has been admitted to hospital and her condition is critical."
Local administration on November 28 has begun a week-long special anti-encroachment drive to improve traffic situation in Patna. The administration is involving departments including electricity, road departments in seven-day-long drive to overcome traffic jam.
