Accepting their defeat in recently-concluded Maharashtra Legislative Council polls, Leader of Opposition and former CM Devendra Fadnavis said that the BJP miscalculated combined power of the three parties (Maha Vikas Aghadi). "The results of Maharashtra Legislative Council polls are not as per our expectations. We were expecting more seats but won only one. We miscalculated the combined power of the three parties (Maha Vikas Aghadi). We have to work hard with an understanding of their power. Even, I said this earlier that probably these (three) parties will get temporary benefit but we will get the long-term benefit as we have bigger space and we need to occupy it. We couldn't do it this time, but of course, will achieve it in future," said Fadnavis. BJP faced setback in Maharashtra Legislative Council polls and got only one seat while Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress coalition won four seats and an independent member got the remaining one seat.
After Shiv Sena's mouthpiece Saamana criticised Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his Mumbai visit and raised questions on the latter's development model, state cabinet minister Sidharth Nath Singh said Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has clearly lost his sleep after UP CM's visit, and condemned the "offensive language" in the party newspaper. "Uddhav Thackeray has lost his sleep after UP CM's visit to Mumbai. They have used offensive language using Saamna editorial, which we condemn. This may be their party culture. We were welcomed open-heartedly by Bollywood people," Nath told ANI.
Addressing a press conference in Mumbai on December 02, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, "We want to build a world-class film city in Uttar Pradesh. We held discussions with several producers, directors, and other experts related to film industry in this regard." On being asked about Maharashtra Chief Minister saying that he won't allow his state's business to be taken away, UP CM added, "We are not taking anything anywhere. Mumbai Film City will work in Mumbai itself, new Film City in UP is being developed in a new environment according to new requirements." On being asked about Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut's Film City comment, CM Yogi said, "We have not come here to take anything away. We are building a new Film City. Why one is getting worried about it? We are giving something new to people in form of world-class infrastructure."
National President of Bharatiya Janata Party Jagat Prakash Nadda showed his satisfaction on the GHMC election results. DIG of Munger, Manu Maharaaj informed that five FIRs have been registered so far in connection with violence happened on October 29. "5 FIRs registered in connection with arson and vandalism on October 29. Few people have been identified. Investigation is underway based on CCTV and camera footages. Value of sabotaged vehicles and property has been evaluated. New DM and SP has joined, they'll look into the matter thoroughly. We request citizens to maintain peace."

One person was killed and over two dozen people, including security personnel, injured in firing and stone- pelting during goddess Durga idol immersion late Monday night in Munger's Deen Dayal Upadhyay Chowk. The Election Commission has removed the District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police of Munger. a group of protesters went on the rampage in the town on Thursday, setting some police stations and outposts on fire and ransacking the SP and the SDO offices. Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Munger Manu Maharaj on Friday said that situation is normal now in Munger and additional force has been deployed. Watch the full video for more details.

A fresh bout of violence erupted in Bihar's Munger on October 29 by unidentified persons who caused arson at office of Sub-Divisional Officer and Superintendent of Police. During the protest, several vehicles were also burnt by the mob. Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Manu Maharaaj said that the situation in Munger is normal and police are monitoring the situation. He said that police have conducted flag march and police presence is in the city to stop any untoward activity. A man was shot during the Durga idol immersion ceremony in Munger after clashes broke out due to the slow pace of the procession. On October 29, the Election Commission of India (ECI) ordered the immediate removal of SP and District Magistrate (DM) of Munger over arson in the district of poll-bound Bihar. Inquiry is underway.
Speaking to ANI in Bihar's Patna on December 04, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav spoke on all-party meeting on COVID-19.Yadav said, "Despite being the single largest party of Bihar, RJD has not been invited for the all-party meeting to discuss the COVID-19 situation." "It shows that the meeting is just show-off," he added.
Bihar Police arrested 17 criminals and seized 14 country-made pistols and 1 quintal ganja from their possession on December 03. Case has been registered against them under relevant sections of IPC. The campaign for seizing illegal arms is in full swing in Bihar. Further probe is underway.

Manjhi said, "It won't be right to comment on Munger firing incident before the findings of the probe are out. But Bihar government has taken swift action into the incident and is doing what is required." A mob vandalised Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) and Superintendent of Police (SP) office on October 29 in Munger while protesting against a man's death which took place during Goddess Durga idol immersion clashes on October 26.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Bihar deputy chief minister Sushil Modi filed his nomination for Rajya Sabha by-election as an NDA (National Democratic Alliance) candidate in Patna on December 02. He was accompanied by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. He said, "Sushil Modi has our full support." Voting for Rajya Sabha by-election is scheduled on December 14. The seat was left vacant after demise of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader and former union minister Ram Vilas Paswan.
Speaking on the on-going farmers' protest against new farm laws, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on November 30 stated that the protests are happening on account of misconceptions and dialogue should take place in the matter. He said, "The central govt wants to talk to farmers to dispel the fear of issues in the procurement mechanism. So I believe that dialogue should take place. The protests are happening on account of misconceptions."
