Tuesday, 24 November 2020 The J&K administration’s probe into largescale misappropriation of public land has thrown up alleged evidence of the involvement of former CM and NC leader Farooq Abdullah, with government sources claiming that he had encroached upon more than seven kanals of prime state and forest land in Sunjwan, Jammu.
People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) members met in JandK's Srinagar. They met on December 24 to discuss the DDC election results. While addressing the media, PAGD member and National Conference (NC) chief Farooq Abdullah said, "Gupkar alliance is much stronger today than when it was formed. We are united and we will continue to be united."
BPJ president JP Nadda took a jibe at Congress and J&K leaders in Hyderabad. He said, “In Jammu and Kashmir, NC leader Farooq Abdullah says he'll seek China's help to restore Article 370. PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti says she'll not raise tricolour until Jammu and Kashmir, Farooq’s flag is restored. These are our national leaders. Congress opposes Modi ji but ends up opposing the country. It stands with Gupkar alliance.” Nadda held a roadshow in Hyderabad on Friday ahead of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation election. Mortal remains of Havaldar Nirmal Singh arrived at his native place in Ambala on January 22. Singh lost his life during ceasefire by Pakistan along Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district in January 21. The Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked firing along the LoC in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch. Havaldar Nirmal Singh of the 10 JAK Rifles unit of the Army was critically injured in the firing and succumbed to injuries.

Road safety month awareness camp has been organised in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch. The '32nd National Road Safety Month-2021' was organised by the Motor Vehicles Department in Jhalas area of Poonch. The transport authorities properly provided the awareness about driving rules and road safety.
National Conference's Omar Abdullah hit out at BJP as results of Jammu and Kashmir DDC polls poured in. Abdullah said that after this defeat BJP won't conduct Assembly polls in J&K anytime soon. Meanwhile, BJP leader Ram Madhav said DDC results are a victory of Centre's policies. People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration swept the maiden DDC polls. The alliance of regional parties including NC and PDP won 110 seats. BJP has emerged as the single largest party by bagging 74 seats. Polling was held over eight phases beginning November 28 and ending on December 19.

Speaking to ANI on December 23, Vice President (VP) of Jammu Kashmir National Conference, Omar Abdullah spoke on DDC election results. Abdullah said, "I congratulate them (Bharatiya Janata Party) for their 3 seats (in Kashmir) but what about our 35 seats in Jammu. Admit that we have pan JandK presence." "BJP keeps calling (saying) us Kashmir based party. If we are Kashmir based with 35 seats in Jammu, then they are not even fully Jammu based," he added.
Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has reconstructed Bailey bridge at Kela Morh in Ramban on Jammu-Srinagar highway in record 60 hours. One of the passways of the bridge was damaged due to landslide which led to the closing of the national highway for more than a week. A trial run was carried out successfully on January 16 and traffic will be able to run on it by evening, according to BRO. Brigadier IK Jaggi, Chief Engineer of BRO, said, "By evening, traffic will resume on it".
