Sushil Modi claims Lalu Prasad trying to poach NDA MLAs in Bihar in bid to topple Nitish Kumar government
Wednesday, 25 November 2020 Sushil Kumar Modi made the assertion on Twitter, sharing a mobile number which, he claimed, Prasad was having access to despite serving sentences.
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on December 19, reached RIMS Hospital in Ranchi to meet his father and party supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav. He said that Lalu Yadav's kidney is functioning at 25 per cent. Yadav also lambasted at Nitish Kumar by saying that there is no law and order in the state and Kumar is tired now. Lalu Prasad Yadav has been in jail since December 23, 2017 after his conviction in the fodder scam cases. After health complications, Lalu was shifted to RIMS and then to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. Yadav was referred back to RIMS after AIIMS doctors declared him fit in 2018.
Jharkhand High Court deferred hearing of bail plea of RJD Chief Lalu Yadav in fodder scam case related to Dumka Treasury. The High Court will resume its hearing on December 11. Speaking on this, Lalu's lawyer Prabhat Kumar said, "The next date of the bail plea hearing is December 11. We have been instructed to bring records related to Lalu Prasad Ji's half-sentence from the lower court and get it verified before further arguments."
BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi on December 28 said that CM Nitish Kumar agreed to become Chief Minister of Bihar on request of Janata Dal (United), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) leaders. He said, "Nitish Kumar didn't want to be the Chief Minister (of Bihar). BJP and JDU leaders told him that we fought the poll on his name and vision and said that people had voted for him. In the end, he accepted to become the Chief Minister on request of JDU, BJP and VIP leaders." On JD (U) MLAs joining BJP in Arunachal Pradesh, Sushil Modi said, "Leaders of JD (U) have said that whatever has happened in Arunachal Pradesh will not affect the alliance in Bihar and Bihar government. BJP-JD(U) alliance in Bihar is unbreakable. The government will work for 5 years under the guidance of Nitish Kumar."
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Bihar deputy chief minister Sushil Modi filed his nomination for Rajya Sabha by-election as an NDA (National Democratic Alliance) candidate in Patna on December 02. Three days after Rupesh Kumar Singh, a manager with IndiGo airlines, was shot dead by unidentified bike-borne men in the Punaichak area of Patna, his family said the probe should be transferred from Bihar police to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Nandeshwar Singh, brother of the deceased said that despite Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's assurance of arresting the culprits within 48 hours, there have been no arrests.
