Amid the farmer's protest against the three new farm laws and their upcoming tractor parade on Republic Day, Krantikari Kisan Union president Darshan Pal on January 17 alleged that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is targeting people who are part of the farmers' protest by registering cases against them in serious charges including terrorism. "NIA has started to register cases against those who are a part of the farmers' movement or those who have lent their support to it. All farmers' unions condemn this. We will fight this in every possible way," Pal told media at Singhu border, the largest site of protesting farmers.
National Investigation Agency (NIA) on January 07 carried out raids at six locations in Jammu and Kashmir in connection with narcotics and weapons case that the anti-terror probe agency had registered in 2020. Details and name of location and people involved were not shared by the NIA.
