CM Yogi inaugurates Strawberry Festival in Jhansi

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on January 17 inaugurated Strawberry Festival of Jhansi via video conferencing. During the festival, workshops will also be organized to encourage the farmers to opt for strawberries. A work plan has also been made to encourage strawberry farming in Jhansi. Products of other districts of the state have their unique identity and such festivals can help in giving them a new platform. The festival will continue till 16th February. The government has also been trying to create new facilities for irrigation.

Rajnath Singh lays foundation stone of Army Hospital of Central Command in Lucknow

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh laid foundation stone of new Army Hospital of Central Command in Lucknow on January 16. He was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Army Chief General MM Naravane. This 'Super Specialty' hospital equip with about 900 beds capacity to server Army jawans. Soldiers and ex-servicemen and their families will be able to get better treatment facilities in Lucknow.

Sakshi Maharaj demands ban on Saif Ali Khan starrer 'Tandav'

BJP MP from Unnao Sakshi Maharaj reacted on web series 'Tandav' on which BJP leaders alleged that some scenes are demeaning Hindu gods. Slamming the makers and actors of 'Tandav', Sakshi Maharaj demanded to ban the web series. "If some actors demean Hindu gods then the film should be banned," he said. Recently, BJP MLA Ram Kadam filed a complaint against the creators of 'Tandav', alleging the web series insulted Hindu gods and goddesses.

WB 2021 polls: Amit Shah to visit the state on Jan 30-31, says Dilip Ghosh

BJP state president of West Bengal, Dilip Ghosh, on January 17 informed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit the state on January 30th and 31st, and will participate in various functions. He also informed that the party will organise a yatra which will roam across the state to do 'Jansampark' (mass public contact) ahead of the assembly elections in the state.

COVID-19 vaccination drive begins in India

The mega COVID-19 vaccination drive began in India on January 16. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the drive and around 100 healthcare workers will get vaccinated at each session site on the inaugural day. Manish Kumar, a sanitation worker, became the first person to receive COVID-19 vaccine jab at AIIMS. In the first phase of COVID-19 vaccination drive, healthcare workers will receive the vaccine. The beneficiaries reached to their respective health centres. Two COVID vaccines have been approved in India- Pune-based SII's 'Covishield' and Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech's 'Covaxin'.

Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Smriti Irani held a press conference on December 28 and said that BJP won seats in Arunachal Pradesh, Goa and Rajasthan which proves that people believe in PM Narendra Modi. Smriti Irani said, "In Arunachal Pradesh, BJP has won 187 Zilla panchayats out of 242 Zilla panchayat seats. The party also registered victory in over 6,450 gram panchayats and in Pasighat Municipal Council elections where Congress won only two seats." She added, "In Goa Zilla panchayat elections, BJP created history by winning 33 out of 48 seats. BJP, which won only one seat in 2015 polls of Bodoland Territorial Council, emerged has come to power with the blessing of the people in alliance with UPPL and GSP." She further added, "The Congress' sarcasm was that the BJP is losing its popularity in rural areas. What better response can citizens of India give than that has been received in rural local body election in Rajasthan.
