India and China locked in stalemate over troop disengagement in eastern Ladakh
Thursday, 26 November 2020 India and China are yet to agree on the modalities for the proposed troop disengagement in eastern Ladakh, making it virtually certain their soldiers will remain deployed on the forbidding heights through the long and harsh winter ahead. The seven-month-long military confrontation in eastern Ladakh “is frozen in time” now, with “no meaningful progress” being made after the eighth round of corps commander-level talks on November 6.
As India and China are in months-long bitter border standoff, the latter is reportedly undertaking construction activities along the borders of Arunachal Pradesh. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that if India will not give a clear message to them, China will make the most out of it. He further said that China has a clear strategic vision of shaping the world which India doesn't have. "China has a clear strategic vision of shaping the world which India doesn't have. India does this and that but doesn't work strategically. China has tested twice, once in Doklam and other in Ladakh. If India doesn't give a clear message to them and make clear military, economic geopolitical strategy, China won't stay quiet but will make the most out of it. The day it will happen, we'll suffer damages," said Gandhi during a press conference on January 19.
Rahul Gandhi warned the Modi government over China’s aggression in Ladakh and said that the government needs have a decisive strategy to counter the threat. ‘Unlike India, China has a very clear strategic vision. They want to shape the world. India does not have a strategic vision. China has tested India once before in Doklam and now in Ladakh. If China is not given a clear message, then China will not remain quiet, they will take advantage of it,’ Rahul Gandhi said. He said that he was raising the red-flag for the government. Rahul Gandhi also added that the government cannot sort this issue through event management and accused the Modi government of failing to protect India. Watch the full video for all the details.
