Union Minister of Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad met three village level women entrepreneurs of Common Service Center (CSC) who participated in the Republic Day parade. Speaking to media, RS Prasad said, "They symbolise the spirit of women empowerment through digital service delivery under Digital India." Three village level entrepreneurs of CSC were Baijanti Devi from Bihar's Gaya, Misba Hashmi from Yamuna Nagar and Sonu Bala from Haryana's Rewari.They attended the Republic Day parade on the tableau of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
President Ram Nath Kovind addressed to nation on R-Day eve and said, "Our scientists, along with doctors, administrators and people from other walks of life, have made major contribution in containing the virus and keeping the fatality rate lower in our country, compared to that in developed countries. Thus, our farmers, soldiers and scientists deserve special appreciation and a grateful nation greets them on this auspicious occasion of the Republic Day." He also said, "By conducting not only free and fair but also safe elections in Bihar which has high population density and in UT of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh with difficulties of access and other challenges, our democracy and the Election Commission have accomplished remarkable feats. I am sure that with a view to reducing the risk of such pandemics, the issue of climate change will be accorded top priority at the global level. Economic reforms have continued apace and have been supplemented by long-pending reforms in areas of labour and agriculture through legislation. The path to reform at initial stages may cause misapprehensions. However, it's beyond doubt that government remains singularly devoted to farmers' welfare."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accorded Guard of Honour at the rally of National Cadet Corps (NCC) at Cariappa Ground in the national capital on January 28.
