MARCOS deployed near Pangong Lake in eastern Ladakh, naval commandos to get new boats soon
Saturday, 28 November 2020 The idea behind the deployment of the MARCOS in Eastern Ladakh where Indian Air Force's Garud operatives and Indian Army's Para Special Forces is to enhance the integration of the three services and provide the naval commandos exposure to extreme cold weather conditions, government sources said.
A nine-year-old girl from rural Andhra Pradesh has conquered Mount Kilimanjaro. Located in Tanzania, Mount Kilimanjaro is the African continent's highest peak. Ritwika Sree of Anantapur became the world's second youngest and Asia's youngest girl to scale Mount Kilimanjaro. She achieved the record accompanied by her father, who is also her guide. Ritwika's father is a cricket coach and sports coordinator. She was trained at the Rock Climbing School at Bhongir, Telangana and received level two training in Ladakh.

India is not just an emerging power but has power of its own in many ways, ANI Chairman and veteran journalist Prem Prakash has said and noted that the withdrawal by China in Pangong Lake area in eastern Ladakh as part of mutual disengagement agreement "is the first withdrawal Chinese may have made anywhere" and "further withdrawal is going to take place". Speaking during an interactive event through video conferencing on February 20 in which his book 'Reporting India: My Seventy-Year Journey as a Journalist' was launched here by Lord Rami Ranger CBE. The book authored by ANI Chairman Prem Prakash had earlier been launched in India. Answering a query, the veteran journalist referred to progress made by India over the decades and its growing influence."India was known as land of snake charmers and elephants as I found in Britain. But today it is not just an emerging power, it has power of its own in many ways. We have just asserted it on the Chinese. This is the first withdrawal that the Chinese may have made anywhere that they made in Ladakh just now and further withdrawal is going to take place," he said. Prem Prakash is a pioneer in Indian journalism and in his long career has covered some of the most important stories of post-independence India including the 1962 war with China, 1965 and 1971 wars against Pakistan, Emergency, the assassination of Indira Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri's fateful Tashkent journey. The book provides a detailed account of his professional life and stories he covered from Nehru's demise to rise of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The 225-page book has been published by Penguin India and is also available on Amazon and Flipkart.
India and China have concluded the tenth round of military talks, which began yesterday morning after 10 AM and lasted for about 16 hours. The talks come as the two neighbouring countries completed the disengagement process on both the banks of the Pangong Lake in eastern Ladakh on Friday. The two countries have been holding diplomatic and military talks for the last nine months after tensions began rising along the high-altitude border in April.

Celebrations to mark SLAF’s anniversary took place at Galle Face in Colombo. IAF Sarang and Suryakiran Aerobatic Team staged a flypast and aerobatic display. IAF Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria also reached Colombo to mark his presence at the event. Bhadauria is on a two-day visit to the island nation on an invitation from SLAF Commander. The Sri Lankan Air Force celebrated its 70th anniversary on March 2, 2021. SLAF is conducting an air show from March 3-5 to commemorate the occasion.
