Over 25 lakh COVID vaccine doses administered by 2pm till Jan 28: Health Ministry

Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, on January 28, briefed media about the ongoing COVID vaccination drive. While addressing the media, Bhushan informed that over 25 lakh vaccine doses have been administered so far, as per data available till 2 pm today. He also said that the number of active cases are declining and there are 1,75,000 active cases in the country as of now. "A steady and declining trend is being exhibited," said Bhushan.

Meanwhile, India has supplied vaccines to its neighbours under neighbourhood first policy. Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh received vaccines. India sees international cooperation in the area of fight against Covid-19 as its duty. New Delhi has played the role of the first responder in the region.

SII's vaccines reach Mumbai airport for shipping to Bahrain, Colombo

Serum Institute of India's vaccine consignment arrived at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on January 28. The consignment containing COVID-19 vaccine will be dispatched to Bahrain and Colombo today. India is helping other countries with the import of COVID vaccine amid the pandemic.
