Sonia Gandhi to hold meeting with party general secretaries, in-charges on farmers issue
Saturday, 9 January 2021 () According to sources, a virtual meeting has been called to discuss the situation and to chalk out a strategy to support farmers protests. Congress has been in support of the farmers in their movement against the new farm laws enacted by the Centre in September. Gandhi had earlier issued a statement that since Independence the current government has been the "most egoistic" government and had advised the Centre to repeal these laws and do "Raj Dharma".

Congress leaders from Kerala and Rahul Gandhi had a meeting on January 18 ahead of state Assembly elections in which they decided that no leader will be projected as a Chief Minister candidate in next polls. Speaking on the meeting, Kerala Congress president Mullappally Ramachandran said, "The upcoming Assembly election in Kerala was discussed during the meeting. We have taken a decision that we'll get united and go to the polls in a disciplined manner. Definitely, we will come out with flying colours. The question before us is how to win the elections. Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law and businessman Robert Vadra questioned in connection with a 'benami' assets case. Speaking on this, he said that "there has been no tax evasion and every question was answered clearly." "23,000 documents were taken away from my office. They have more information about me than I have in my office today. Every question they asked was answered clearly. "Why would we merge with Congress party, they are too small in West Bengal," said Vice-President of West Bengal All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) Saugata Roy on January 19. Congress lashed out at the BJP over the Hindu Mahasabha inaugurating a study centre dedicated to Mahatama Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse. The former Madhya Pradesh CM called on the BJP and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to clarify whether they backed the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi's killer.
