Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and BJP President JP Nadda addressed social workers in Varanasi on February 28. Highlighting path breaking reforms brought by centre government, JP Nadda spoke about the abolishment of triple talaq. He said that Islamic nations like Bangladesh, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq and Syria don't have triple talaq but it used to exist in India. "And we used to hail ourselves as progressive," he added. JP Nadda further said that it was PM Modi who ended torture on Muslim sisters and abolished triple talaq.

BJP workers' mother allegedly assaulted by TMC workers in WB's North 24 Paraganas

BJP worker's mother was attacked by unknown miscreants at her residence in North 24 Paraganas during wee hours of February 27. Gopal Majumdar has alleged 3 TMC workers for the brutal incident. BJP worker Gopal Majumdar's mother said that she is scared as the culprits had asked her not to tell anyone about it. "TMC workers attacked me. They hit me on my head and neck and punched me. They hit me on my face too. They had come in the morning at around 4:30. I am scared, they asked me not to tell anyone about it. My whole body is in pain,' said Gopal Majumdar's Mother while speaking to ANI. FIR has been registered and Investigation is underway.

Tejashwi hints at joining Congress-AIUDF alliance in Assam

RJD leader Tejaswhi Yadav on February 27 announced that his party will contest the upcoming assembly elections in Assam, and also hinted at joining the Congress-AIUDF alliance. "Our party used to be a national party and we want to expand now. Assam is the gateway of NorthEast. We have decided to contest Assembly polls in Assam. We've discussed with Congress about alliance and will also be speaking to Ajmal sahab (AIUDF)," he said.

Yadav, during his maiden visit to Guwahati, said he has already met Congress Assam chief Ripun Bora and will hold talks with the AIUDF to formalise the alliance. On Dumka treasury case, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's lawyer, Prabhat Kumar said, "The final hearing will be heard on next Friday. CBI has been directed to file reply by that time. The case has come to half of the sentence. We are hoping that he (Lalu Prasad Yadav) will get bail on Friday (February 05)."
